Jose Miguel Rubio Iglesias

Biography Jose Miguel Rubio Iglesias (Madrid, 1982) holds a BEng on Land Surveying (2004) and a MEng on Geodesy and Cartography (2006) by the Polytechnic University of Madrid, with two Second National Graduation Awards for Higher University Education. Spanish civil servant since 2008, he has worked for the Spanish National Centre for Geographic Information in the national street map project CartoCiudad as well as in international projects and activities related to the Spanish Spatial Data Infrastructures (IDEE). During this period he was also member of the Initial Operating Capacity Task Force of the INSPIRE Network Services. Seconded National Expert in the European Commission since 2012, he is following the implementation of the five Citizens Observatories projects,. He is currently member of the GEOSS Data Sharing Working Group and has participated in a number of activities, conferences and workshops of the GEO (Group on Earth Observations) initiative.
