The development of commercial Earth observation systems led to the popularity of small satellite missions. This happened due to a number of advantages: cheap manufacturing technology; the use of modern technologies allows acquiring high-resolution images by small sensors. The Skysat constellation belongs to a class of micro-sattelites, currently it consists of 2 satellites. A unique feature of the satellites is the possibility to capture sub-meter resolution imagery and full motion videos (1 m/pixel). A number of consecutive images with high frequency allow creating a video up to 90 seconds duration. “Raw video" product includes RPCs data for each frame. In our study we wanted to assess the usefulness of "spacevideos". We used “stabilized video" product for three different types of the objects: landfill waste storage, city and quarry. Since “stabilized video" product does not contain raw data (frames with RPCs), the first step for each data set was extracting of the first, the last and the nadir frames. Georeferencing by RPCs was impossible so we tried other approaches: to approximate orbital imaging system model (PCI Geomatics) and DLT-method (Photomod). We've measured control and manual tie points. The first and the last frames form a stereo model with nice viewing angle. So we've manage to create DSM and DTM in fully automatic and manual modes. These models may be used for the volume calculation, 3D city modeling, etc. The nadir frame was orthorectified, that allow to detect changes during monitoring period. Videos themselves allow assessing different parameters of objects activity, like traffic, operating, development, etc. Thus, "spacevideos" allow to get all standard geospatial object's characteristics (position, size, etc.) and to assess its dynamics. In addition, videos allow extract the three-dimensional characteristics of objects. In general, small satellites provide access to data, which quality is enough to get accurate geospatial products. In emergency situations the monitoring frequency, resolution and quality of the result products can be unprecedented.
