Abstract 1Spatial Data Management Suite to Support European Data Harmonisation
1Spatial has a proven history working with National Mapping and Cadastral Agencies (NMCA) to improve processes to deliver spatial data with more uniform quality and quicker update cycles. These improvements are key to be able to respond to the growing demand for accurate, up-to-date and well structured data that can be used to feed various applications, such as routing, assets management, or national crisis management, like disease outbreaks. NMCAs also need to respond to the INSPIRE Directive, which pushes for the availability of homogeneous spatial data across Europe, to boost the development of applications that deliver better services for the European citizen. 1Spatial technology has been developed over the years to support NMCAs in replacing their old systems with modern, highly automated systems, based on a central topographic database that can be efficiently maintained, quality assured and from which multiple products can be quickly derived. 1Spatial Management Suite [1] contains three data processing products, 1Validate, 1Integrate and 1Generalise; all of which are focused on ensuring your data can be utilised to its full potential. These products can be used as stand-alone products or as part of an orchestrated, automated system. While 1Spatial continues to improve its offering to NMCAs individually, 1Spatial is also contributing to the European Location Framework project [2], which aims at “building a cloud platform and web services to build on the existing work of the INSPIRE Directive and enable access to harmonised data in cross border applications”. 1Spatial is adapting and extending these products to deliver to the project the best toolkit to achieve its challenging goals.
