INSPIRE is making a great effort to show us the benefits of data harmonization, standard services, cooperation between different administrative units, and Spatial Data Infrastructure of Extremadura is a great example of how this has been achieved in a local way. The development of the of SDI Extremadura has been a starting point to focus on standardization of information in our region. When there are many and so different providers, it's recommendable to harmonize data so as to make them more comprehensible for the final user. The aim of this article is to explain how this harmonization has taken place throughout the years, and to show the great amount of money and time saved with it. Nowadays, information is much more complete than it used to be, and cheaper to obtain, thanks basically to this standardization and cooperation between every administrative unit.
