This contribution presents the results of the implementation of Augmented Reality (AR-Augmented Reality) to Geoportal Environmental Data Environmental Protection Agency of Calabria. Applications of virtual reality to the cultural heritage are part of a general trend towards reproducibility and interaction mediated by the computer system. The study of the territory and the landscape becomes more and more use of different methods for the analysis, interpretation and communication through digital technologies. GIS, remote sensing, laser scanners, photogrammetry, computer vision, 3D modeling, virtual reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) are instruments of a complex system that links knowledge with multidisciplinary expertise of contemporary structures, elements of geotopografia and geology, socio-cultural models and economic analysis of town planning and architectural study of the materials and graphical representation. The STAR project - Territorial Spatial Augmented Reality proposes the creation of a multi-channel and multi-sensory platform for edutainment in the Environmental sector, through the integration of science and ICT. In the course of this project has been designed a simple application of Augmented Reality based on the recognition of markers that allows you to interact with 3D models and regional (made via DEM) and some of its main features intercepted on the territory of the region Calabria. In addition, it is tested escort function that activates a virtual guide that also indicates the direction in which to move. By means of a suitable user interface, dedicated, you can view 3D models territorial different moments in order to make a visual comparison of the changes that have occurred over time. Whenever you see a pattern in the scene, there are some hot spots that allow, approaching the webcam at a predetermined distance, to display textual information and photographs associated with the environmental data that you are observing.
