Biography
I got my Master in Computer Science from the Technical University of Graz (Austria) with the title (Dipl. Ing). I joined my current company GRINTEC GmbH in 2010 as a Web and mobile application developer, then I focused more on the Augmented Reality GIS technology, my first start was a project called Smart Vidente. Smart Vidente was a joint project between GRINTEC and the Technical University of Graz, after that I worked on my Master project “ Efficient user Interface for Accurate Registration of GIS data on Mobile Devices ” . Since October 2014, I got the position (Marketing and Sales Executive) in the same company. My main focus now is marketing GRINTEC’s products especially our new Augmented Reality solution (Augview) in Europe and Middle East.

Augmented Reality GIS - The New Way of the (Mobile) GIS Use

Augmented Reality is now in game consoles or in industry a common and practical technology. For many years, GRINTEC is engaged in the use of augmented reality technology in the context of GIS for (energy) operators, infrastructure and the public sector. GRINTEC has developed a lot of experience in various research projects (see, eg, www.vidente.at ). As part of the presentation GRINTEC would like to explain and present its experience with augmented reality (AR) and mobile GIS. We lay particular emphasis on applications requiring high accuracy considering the position and height information of the GIS data. We show the benefits of this technology and where the current challenges lie in the use of AR technologies.
