Florence Modupeola Oguntuase
Hon'ble Commissioner of Establishments Training and Pensions Lagos State Government Nigeria
Biography Mrs. Oguntuase Florence Enitan Modupe (nee Williams), an economist, career civil servant and a Public Administrator from Lagos Island (West) was born on 11th October, 1954. She began her education at St. Jude’s School, Ebute-Meta and later moved on to Cathedral School, Faji. She graduated with a BSc in Economics from the prestigious University of Lagos (UNILAG) in 1976.
Her career in Civil Service started in 1977 as an Administrative Officer in the Ministry of Economic Development and Establishments. Thereafter, she earned MBA in Business Administration from the University of South Western Louisiana in 1982 and and MSc. (Dev. Finance) from University of Birmingham in 1990.
In 1983, she became Secretary of New Towns Development Authority, Maroko. Among other prestigious roles held by her include Director, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development; Director of Budget at the Ministry of Economic, Planning and Budget and Executive Secretary of Eti-osa and Amuwo-Odofin Local Governments.
In 2004, she was appointed as the Director - Finance and Administration at the Lagos State Board of Internal Revenue, before being named as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget. She currently serves as the Hon’ble Commissioner for Establishments, Training and Pensions in Lagos.
Mrs. Florence belongs to the Ladies Auxiliary Association of St. Paul’s Church and the Nigerian Economic Society. She is happily married and blessed with lovely children.
