Biography
YB. Dato’ Sri Dr. James Dawos Mamit is currently holding the Deputy Minister post at Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (NRE), Malaysia commencing from May 2013. Aside from his duty as a Deputy Minister, he serves as a Member of Parliament since November 1999. Prior to joining NRE, he was appointed as Deputy Minster of Tourism for 3 years. His past working experience was strongly related in Environmental and Natural Resources aspect. He has a Ph.D in Forest Ecology in year 1986. Besides serving his duty as a Deputy Minister and a Member of Parliament, he was actively involved in NGO’S that promotes for a better and sustainable environment. He was appointed as a Vice- President of Asia Pacific Parliamentarians Conference on Environment and Development (APPCED) since 2009 as well as Member of Advisory Board CARBON EURO-PEAT Project since 2006.
