Carlo des Dorides
Executive Director European GNSS Agency European Union
Biography Carlo des Dorides was appointed as the Executive
Director of the European GNSS Agency in January
2011. Before taking office, Mr. des Dorides had
key management responsibilities at the European
Commission, DG Enterprise. In particular, he was
responsible for the definition of the Galileo/EGNOS
exploitation phase. Before joining the Commission,
Mr. des Dorides was Head of the Concession
Department at the European GNSS Supervisory
Authority and, in this same function, he served
as chief negotiator of the Galileo Public-Private-
Partnership/ Concession contract at the Galileo Joint
Undertaking. Prior to his work with the European
Union, Mr. des Dorides was Director of Programs
and Engineering at ENAV and was responsible for
updating the technology of Italian airports and Area
Control Centers. Mr. des Dorides holds a degree in
engineering from the University of Rome and an MBA
from CUOA, Vicenza, Italy.
