Abstract Landslide risk mapping for the entire Swiss national road network
Natural hazards threaten repeatedly transport facilities and infrastructure in Switzerland. To ensure a Swiss-wide uniform and targeted handling with natural hazards, as well as to provide transparency of the invested resources, the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO) in cooperation with the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN), started the project "Natural hazards on national roads" since 2007. As part of this project, seven different sub-projects were or are being carried out to assess and manage the risks posed by gravitational natural hazards (rockfall, landslides, avalanches, floods and debris flows, collapse/subsidence) on the entire national road network.
