After several internships in Geneva He became executive assistant in charge of 3D development projects, of underground cadastre and of data quality for Geneva cadastre. He contributes to the constitution and the development of 3D cadastre. He manages projects of acquisition of LiDAR products, orthophoto, and 3D data. He is responsible of data quality control and diffusion.
Abstract Geneva in 3D
Since 2008 Geneva cadastre is morphing from 2D to 3D! Through the years, several acquisitions of 3D data were completed. This mutation has followed users’ needs and technical possibilities trying to keep a coherent 3D database. Today this database is composed of several layers such as DTM, orthophoto and buildings but also, street furniture and trees. This presentation will show the way Geneva manage its 3D data from the acquisition to the web diffusion. For each kind of data, the different measurement methods, class of accuracy and update possibilities will be presented. We will also see how those data can be merged together. Then, a sample of different uses will be presented. Geneva's 3D data have the advantage to be usable by a lot of different professions. From the land surveyor to the urban planner, 3D is not a goal, it is a tool. First it is a tool for conception, simulation and analysis. Then, it is a decision support tool and finally communication and presentation tool. Finally we will have an overview of on-going projects and prospective for 3D in Geneva. The temporality, completion of 3D life cycle and the augmented reality are just examples of possible evolutions.
