Christopher Barlow

Biography Christopher Barlow is the Director of Strategic Relations & Communications for Thomson Reuters Tax & Accounting government business. He focuses on promoting land administration and property tax solutions for governments worldwide. His work includes partnering with governments, multilateral organizations, industry institutions and media outlets to better communicate the value of improved governance through securing land tenure and enhancing government revenue generation. Christopher lived and worked in the Asia Pacific region for more than eight years. He has worked in China, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Mongolia on land information systems and mapping projects. He currently works out of Thomson Reuters Washington, D.C. offices. He received his M.B.A. and also M.A. in geography from the State University of New York (SUNY) in Buffalo.

Christopher Barlow, Director of Strategic Relations & Communications for Thomson Reuters, will preview how government clients around the world have implemented these geospatial technologies to improve their communities. He will lead a virtual tour of applications from Melbourne, Cape Town, Kingston, Ulan Bator, Kampala, and to Atlanta, as these governments’ employ different approaches to tackle their own peculiar development needs.
Christopher will provide a vision for how much smarter cities will be in the not too distant future, as ever advancing geospatial technologies increasingly contributes more to our daily work lives.
