Abstract Introduction to the IMPULS project
In June 2014, Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency - Sida signed the Agreement with eight institutions in the Western Balkan region in charge of cadaster, state survey and NSDI for financing of the new four-year project named IMPULS. The project is aiming at supporting the institutions in their work to adjust to the INSPIRE Directive as well as in developing of interoperability for data sharing and supporting development of e-government. The project will provide a basis for how technical interoperability can be achieved, how authorities should disseminate spatial data in an electronic format via services and how they can share geodata with other public authorities and private companies. The data and services will give benefits all the way to the end users, being e.g. citizens throughout the region. The project is divided into the six work packages (WP): WP1 - Project Management and Administration; WP2 - Data Sharing Policy and Regulations; WP3 - Data Harmonisation; WP4 - Metadata and Quality Evaluation; WP5 - Dissemination (Services & Portal); WP6 - Benefits (Demonstrations &Pilot implementations). The implementing partner of the project is Lantmateriet, The Swedish mapping, cadastral and land registration authority working in cooperation with the State Geodetic Administration of the Republic of Croatia, being the junior partner. Corner stones for the IMPULS project are cooperation, coordination, transparency and sharing.
