Biography
Carla Freitas has a Geography and Planning degree from University of Minho. She obtained a master degree in Science and Geographical Information Systems in the New University of Lisbon with the thesis "Geography and law: geographical information to the service of Justice". Currently she is a PhD student in University of Minho researching in the same subject. Five years ago, she founded Geojustiça, a pioneer company that deals with geographical information to support land and property conflicts and cadastre. Previously she worked in GeoAtributo Company and in the Portuguese Nature Conservation Institute dealing with environmental education, mapping and coastal planning, and she was lecturer at the Geography Department of University of Minho. Currently she is member of the directing board of the Portuguese Association of Geographers.
