Biography
Edgar Barreira is a representative of the portuguese chapter of Young Surveyors Network (a working group of FIG - International Federation of Surveyors). He is a Geomatics Engineer with a master degree obtained in the University of Lisbon. During the first 5 years of the professional carreer he was researcher in the University of Lisbon and in the Directorate-General for Territorial Development. The subjects of the research studies was: photogrammetry, seismic risk and implementation of INSPIRE Directive in Portugal. He collaborates with INSPIRE Maintenance and Implementation Group (MIG). Between 2010 and 2014 he was lecturer in the Barreiro School of Technology/Polytechnic Institute of Set?bal for civil construction students. Currently he is business consultant on Esri Portugal for the planning, cadastre and natural resources industries. He is part of the team which organizes events for Young Surveyors Network and is very active to promote professional network and to develop new geospatial trends.
