Biography
Fernando Gil (http://pt.linkedin.com/in/fernandojpgil) is GIS Specialist and Senior Chartered Engineer (Portuguese Engineers Society), has a MSc degree in GIS & Science (NOVA IMS), has a degree in Agronomy (Hydraulic Infrastructures), is GIS Certified Trainer, and has more than 20 years' experience in the geospatial industry, managing teams, projects and enterprise geospatial solutions for water utilities, transportation, public works and agriculture industries. He is collaborating with NOVA IMS' college (Lisbon, Portugal) on Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) course, and he is Senior Geographic Information Systems Specialist at REFER Patrimonio, S.A. Formerly (2008-2013) he was Geographic Information Officer and Head of GIS Department at Refer Engineering SA (formerly known as Ferbritas, S.A.) Between 2005 and 2008 he owned a Geomatics and Information Systems company, that developed several national and international projects in Remote Sensing, Water Infrastructures Geographic Information Systems, Image Processing and Agriculture. Between 1991 and 2005 he worked at ProSistemas, SA, a Portuguese engineering consultancy company, where his last position was Head of Cadastral and Information Systems Department (2002-2005). His specialties are Business Development, Business Process Design, Project Management, Team Building, Team Coordination and Management, GIS (ESRI), GIS Training, Remote Sensing, Spatial Databases, and Quality Control.
