Biography
Marco Painho is a Full Professor of Geographic Information Science at the NOVA Information Management School in Lisbon, Portugal. He holds a degree in Environmental Engineering from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, a Master in Regional Planning from the University of Massachusetts, and a PhD in Geography from the University of California Santa Barbara. Besides his teaching and research activity he has managed over a 100 projects in the GIS area for the public and private sectors in Portugal and abroad.
