President EUROGI Ireland
Biography He is a qualified town and regional planner who has worked in both the public and private sectors over just over four decades. He is based in Ireland. Over the past 14 years when working in the Irish Department of Environment, Community and Local Government he has been directly involved in spatial data matters, chairing the Irish Spatial Data Work Group, representing Ireland on the INSPIRE Expert Group, project managing the establishment of an award winning national planning information services (Myplan.ie). For a two year period he was appointed by the World Bank as a Senior Spatial Data Infrastructure Advisor.
He’s been the President of the Irish Organisation for Geographic Information (IRLOGI) and for the past four years he has been the President of EUROGI.
Bruce has considerable experience regarding promoting new ideas and initiatives, particularly through is years in the private sector where he has established and built five new companies (the largest having 36 staff), and his years as Presidents of both IRLOGI and EUROGI. Through his involvement in both EUROGI and IRLOGI he has extensive experience in networking through contacts in a wide variety of sectors and with people at all levels and types.
