Biography
Urban systems engineer specialised in spatial urban modelling, he joined the European Institute for Energy Research (EIFER) in Karlsruhe (Germany) in 2011. He developed energy simulation approaches based on 3D city models (e.g. solar cadastre or energy demand modelling of the residential building stock) for the energy planning and sustainable development of international cities. Currently, he leads a joint project with the Technical University of Berlin to link urban planning and local energy planning and is a main contributor to the Electricit? de France (EDF) activities on Smart and Low Carbon Cities. He coordinates the research cluster ?Spatial Urban Modelling? in the group ?Energy Planning and Geosimulation? at EIFER which is mainly focused on (1) the development and application of methodologies on energy issues for territories and cities, and (2) the development of geospatial data infrastructure and related modules. He is involved in the CityGML Energy ADE working group.
