Alessandro Sarretta

Biography Alessandro Sarretta is a Research Fellow by the Institute of Marine Science of the National Research Council of Italy. He has a Degree and a Ph.D, in Environmental Science and a post graduate master in Geographical Information Systems and Remote Sensing. He has worked in coastal and lagoon environments, studying sedimentology, morphology of their relations with hydrodinamics and anthropogenic pressures. He specialised in the development and support of European initiatives related to Spatial Data Infrastructures, dealing with the implementation of the INSPIRE Directive and the interoperability and harmonization of spatial data and their models. He is involved in various initiatives at national and international level dealing with Open Source Software and Open Science.
