Biography
Research engineer in building energy, Romain Nouvel worked 2 years in the Institut National d'Energie Solaire (INES) in Chambéry - France, specialized in building simulation and thermal comfort modelling. In 2011, he joined the Center of Applied Research of the University of Applied Science Stuttgart, led by Prof Ursula Eicker. He’s in charge of urban energy simulation based on CityGML city models. With partner cities like Munich and Ludwigsburg, he’s developing scenarios of refurbishment and renewable energy supply, enabling to reach fixed goals of CO2 emission reduction. In parallel, he’s participating to the task 51 “Solar energy in Urban Planning” of the International Energy Agency, and coordinating an expert consortium developing the Application Domain Extension (ADE) Energy of CityGML.
