Theme: Digital Transformation of the Built Environment

4-5 May 2023, Postillion Hotel & Convention Centre WTC Rotterdam, The Netherlands

Overview

The fourth Industrial revolution or Industry 4.0 or 4IR is transforming the way we work. The exponential increase in data availability through Internet of Things (IoT) has brought about automation in manufacturing and industrial practices, advancements in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, autonomous vehicles, 5G wireless technologies, and 3D printing changing the traditional landscape of the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry.

So, what do these technological innovations entail for those who visualize, plan, design, and construct?

The merging of real-time data and powerful spatial analytics into BIM models brings forth geospatial elements that are an integral part of planning, design, and construction phases of an infrastructure project. This allows for highly efficient workflows, consistent data, enhanced visualization, reduced costs, multidisciplinary collaboration, improved design quality, and early clash detections.

The AEC community needs to embrace the universal and coordinated adoption of geospatial technologies with BIM to fully realize these benefits.

GeoBIM 2023 will bring together experts from the geospatial and AEC sectors to showcase the phenomenal transformation that infrastructure projects undergo as a result of adoption and deployment of digital technologies.
