GEOSPATIAL CARAVAN: EMBRACING ONE & ALL
“It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change”
— Charles Darwin (1809–1882)
Geospatial technology, now an indispensable part of our lives, is changing paradigms at an astonishing pace. Creative minds globally are leveraging the power of location to transform different sectors, achieve Goals 2030 and Green Deal, and everything else we can think of. Geospatial technology is interwoven into all that we do.
Each technological breakthrough that includes 4IR presents another opportunity to improve people’s lives, and we must embrace each opportunity. And it can be only done by the combined efforts and collaboration of academia – where the seeding of thoughts and innovation takes place, industry – that nurtures these to develop disruptive techs, governments – who facilitate required and regulated access of the technologies and information to the public, and the end-users – from a plethora of sectors and backgrounds having unique demands gives the ultimate push and sets the directions of the geospatial biome. It’s about ‘One and All’ together ideating and engaging with the entire gamut of the ecosystem.
With the theme “Geospatial Caravan: Embracing One & All,” GWF 2023 will bring together the global geospatial community encompassing governments and public sector bodies, industry, academia, and civil society. The goal is to know how we can simplify the technological, institutional, and workflow complexity and augment the impact for the greater good of society.
