Plenary 2: Collaborative Workflows and Business Models - Future of Digital Engineering for AEC Market

In the past few years, we have witnessed technological innovations taking over and transforming the infrastructure asset design and build processes. It is inevitable that AI and Big Data will be what powers innovations in AEC processes and workflows. GIS and BIM data brought together to create a “digital twin” of a project. Cloud-based tools, IoT, real-time rendering applications, virtual and augmented reality are helping project teams to be more productive and efficient. It is becoming apparent that the AEC industry is heading towards technology integration and collaborative approach. This presents a huge opportunity for geospatial industry to collaborate with players in the AEC sector, as geospatial intelligence will ultimately be a key driver for innovations in design and build processes. Leading geospatial and AEC players will deliberate on collaborative business models and the greater value that awaits the market.
