Abstract
Polish INSPIRE Coordination and Regional Achievements on SDI

Poland transposed INSPIRE directive in 2010, since that time legal mechanisms for coordination of spatial information, data sharing between public authorities or interoperability for spatial data sets and services exist. Presentation depicts best practices on national coordination‚ solutions introduced in SII act and their results in practice, success stories and also last activities of Spatial Information Infrastructure Council. Furthermore worth to mention are challenges regarding Spatial Information Infrastructure that we face in our every day work. Although Poland is not a federal country in our Act on Spatial Information Infrastructure also regional activities are foreseen. In the last report on INSPIRE implementation for years 2010-2013 there were mentioned regional activities mostly regarding regional geoportals. In presentation example of Polish region experience will be introduced with the emphasis on building regional SDI with the spirit of the technological progress and also with the user requirements and needs of the region's population. The above mentioned examples from national and regional field will sketch the development of INSPIRE in Poland.
