Abstract
Using Geospatial Big Data for Smarter, Safer and More Efficient Operations

Big Data is often characterized by the three Vs: Volume, Variety and Velocity. We are seeing an exponential increase in each of these Vs. More sensors measure more parameters at a faster pace. The Internet of Things will connect 26 billion devices by 2020. Probably all will have a location, many will be moving. The Big Challenge is to help a user make sense out of all that data. In this presentation, Luciad will present its capabilities and vision on handling this challenge alongside three partners. The partners will showcase their solutions for harnessing and utilizing big data to create smarter, safer and more efficient operations through geospatial situational awareness. In all cases, fast analysis and visualization are key tools that allow users to explore the data interactively. A picture may paint a thousand words; an interactive picture can help you find exactly the words (you didn't know) you were looking for.
