Biography AbstractUsing a shared object type library (OTL) to structure asset management dataProvinces in the Netherlands have embraced asset management as the principle to organize work around infrastructure, ranging from policy making to management, from road maintenance to road building. Data and information management is at the heart of the asset management process.
The data is structured by means of an Object Type Library (OTL), which encompasses of the information needs of those involved in the life cycle of the assets, such as engineers and asset managers. Provinces have collaborated with the municipalities of Amsterdam and Rotterdam to create a shared OTL that can be used to structure internal data processes, but also data transfer between the asset owner and contractors.
