OGC APIs: The Building Blocks for Location

OGC APIs are revolutionary for developers because they make location information more accessible than ever before. They are implementer-friendly and easily understandable by developers, even those without geospatial experience. The standards have been created as modular, extensible specifications designed and tested in close consultation with the communities that will use them.

Hosted by

In this workshop, several OGC members will display how OGC APIs are revolutionizing the location industry by addressing increasingly critical challenges such as the mishandling of location data leading to errors in positioning or loss of information, and building on a standardisation program to develop the OGC API suite of standards.

The OGC is an international consortium of more than 500 businesses, government agencies, research organizations, and universities driven to make geospatial (location) information and services FAIR - Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable. The consortium engages its members and the broader community in a consensus-based process coupled with innovative research and development for collaborative development, approval and maintenance of open, international standards that make location information FAIR.
