Biography

An agroecological researcher with an innovative mindset, Sim strategized the implementation of Precision Agriculture in Sime Darby Plantation. His role in leading the change management within the organization gave him the opportunity to introduce automation applications in the plantation lifecycle and facilitate the new integration with the existing platform.

Sim strongly believes in digital technology capabilities in transforming the plantation sector. In his present position he draws on more than fifteen years of experience in oil palm agronomy, to identify gaps Upstream Operation - all by utilizing the adopted technology. By doing so, he has succeeded in upskilling the company's human resources and upgrading the digital infrastructure. He is now looking into deploying the SMART eco-system into Sime Darby Plantation's group that expands across different continents - whilst driving the company's transition from a static to a dynamic, real-time GIS database.
