Sisters of SAR is a voluntary initiative that officially launched on Twitter on April 27, 2020. Created and organised by women in SAR, we promote the exceptional work and accomplishments of other women in our field. In a field historically dominated by men, we help make sure that the work of women no longer goes unnoticed. Every week we start tweeting with #SARFact Monday, #TrainingTuesday, #DiversityDay on Wednesday where we give a shout-out to another Twitter initiative aimed at increasing diversity, #PictureDay on Thursday, and our #SAR_STAR feature on Friday's where we highlight a #WomaninSAR and her research. Our SAR_STAR tweets help increase visibility of the exceptional women in our field and creates a searchable list of women in the field of SAR remote sensing that other scientists, researchers and students around the world can use to find women mentors and allies. The Women in Copernicus initiative aims to make more visible the women working within Europe's Earth Observation Programme Copernicus. We want to highlight the diversity of reasons and ways in which women contribute to Copernicus. The goal is to foster women to be at the forefront of Copernicus. Women+ in Geospatial is a non-profit community interest company (CIC) set up in the UK, working to forge a geospatial community where all genders can thrive.
