BiographyStefano Nativi is currently senior researcher at the National Research Council of Italy. He co-chairs the GEOSS Development Task Team and the Data Ethics sub-group of the Group on Earth Observation. He chairs the Brokering Interest Group of Research Data Alliance. In 2009 he funded and chaired the Earth and Space Sciences Informatics Division of the European Geosciences Union (EGU). From 2018 to 2021 he was the Big Data Lead Scientist of the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission. He received the EGU Ian McHarg medal, the Geospatial Innovation Award of the GWF, and the Meritorious Service Medal of the IEEE Committee on EO.AbstractEngineering an advanced DE reference framework and the Digital Twin patternThe presentation will introduce and discuss an advanced architectural reference framework for the development of Digital Earth platforms and infrastructures, by leveraging the recent and powerful digital transformation of the society. The concepts (and technology) of geospatial Digital Ecosystem and Digital Twins of the Earth will be presented. A couple of international use cases will be discussed.
