BiographyDavid Schenkel is a Senior Solutions Manager in the Property Solutions unit of Swiss Re. He leads the development of the Rapid Damage Assessment solution, Swiss Re's Nat Cat post-event offering for insurance clients. Previously he was working in product development and innovation roles for casualty models as well as on Swiss Re's parametric insurance offering. Prior to Swiss Re, David worked at the United Nations Platform for Space-based Information for Disaster Management and Emergency Response (UN-SPIDER) in Beijing.

David holds a Master degree in Geography with focus on remote sensing. During his studies he focused on analyzing global long-term changes in vegetation seasonality and biodiversity based on satellite data.
