BiographyHelen is Infrastructure Data & Innovation lead at the GLA. In her role she engages with local authorities and across the infrastructure sector (including telcos, gas, water, power, and transport providers), to use geospatial data and digital tools to meet common outcomes and drive collaborative working for Londons infrastructure. Projects include leading the Infrastructure Mapping Application (IMA) and delivering the National Underground Asset Register (NUAR) in London. Prior to the GLA, she worked across central government and consultancy, always focussed on using data and digital solutions to improve outcomes for people and places.AbstractImproving efficiencies and collaboration through sharing infrastructure data ? from the National Underground Asset Register (NUAR) & Infrastructure Mapping Application (IMA)The Greater London Authoritys (GLA) Infrastructure team has pioneered the use of data and innovation tools for years, to support infrastructure coordination and drive collaborative working and delivery in the sector. However, Londons complex urban environment and the fragmentation of ownership within and across the infrastructure sector makes sharing data for common purposes challenging. The GLA must source data from across Londons 33 local authorities, in addition to utilities, telecommunications companies and transport providers. Even with willing stakeholders, organisations are at different stages of technological and organisational maturity around data sharing. This talk will cover lessons from the Cabinet Offices National Underground Asset Register (NUAR) and Londons Infrastructure Mapping Application (IMA).
