BiographyKuo-Yu slayer Chuang has worked on Location-Based Service (LBS), crowdsourcing, and disaster response with ICT for years. His current focus is GeoThings, a social enterprise start-up that provides the integrated ICT platform (geoBingAn) for pre-/in-/post-disaster information management and coordination for capacity building to disaster resilience. It creates the barrier of using Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in the field by the responders, volunteers, or even the local residents. With an edge platform that allows user to collect and coordinate disaster data with the mobile application that can be operated offline. Further analysis for damage assessment could be delivered with machine learning at edge platform. This presentation will introduce the application scenario alone with some practices, to strengthening the disaster resilience of remote or rural area.
