BiographyDr. Maria Cecilia Rubio Paringit is is an associate full-time faculty member of the civil engineering department, belonging to the Transportation specialization, at De La Salle University-Manila. She has conducted lectures to various audiences including graduate and college students, engineering and real estate professional organizations, Regional Developmental Council of Davao Region, National Fisheries Research and Development Institute and local government staffs. Her wide range of topic lectured and research conducted includes: surveying and mapping, GIS for various applications, environment, urban and regional planning, ecology, disaster management and transportation. She is a licensed geodetic engineer, environmental planner, real estate broker and appraiser. She obtained her Doctor of Engineering degree on Mechanical and Environmental Informatics from the Tokyo Institute of Technology where she conducted a doctoral research on socio-environmental informatics for coastal ecosystem monitoring and management. She took her Masters degree on Urban Planning from the School of Urban and Regional Planning, University of the Philippines with thesis entitled "Multi-agent-based modelling to Coastal Zone Planning and Management: a case study of Ormoc City."
