BiographyDr. Enrico C. Paringit is the Executive Director of Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development under the Department of Science and Technology. He is a licensed geodetic engineer and a professor under the Department of Geodetic Engineering in University of the Philippines Diliman. He spearheads the Disaster Risk and Exposure Assessment for Mitigation (DREAM) Program, an R&D project under the DOSTs Project NOAH. DREAM makes use of Light Detection and Ranging (LiDar) technology to record surface data using aerial images and generates highly detailed flood maps of 18 of the Philippines major river systems.
