One of the key ingredients of digital transformation are data driven insights. Analyzing, Integrating and Validating information from big data streams (both spatial and non-spatial), to complement business processes, requires more than just technology. It requires constant R&D with data and methods, deep understanding of business processes and it needs to be backed by round-the-clock deployment on IT platforms. All of this in close interaction with one’s customers, to continuously acknowledge their needs and requirements.

At CGI Nederland, the Space Data Applications unit focuses on creating highly innovative solutions for commercial and institutional markets. In my keynote, I will focus on how information for decision makers is enriched with contextual data from various sources and is analyzed to provide insights to take better decisions. On top this, data can form the basis for automation.

Two use cases will be elaborated, one dealing with combining Space data with real-time social media analytics for improving human migration prognosis for various regional and national stakeholders. The second case will focus on how space data based information helps optimize agricultural-growers’ bottom-line results with respect to maintenance of greenhouses.
