BiographyEugenio Fontan is the BIM Director of Enzyme APD Limited. He has more than 10 years of experience developing different kind of projects using BIM. Master Degree ETSAM, Madrid in Architecture, Construction and Urban planning. He worked in several countries in Europe before he moved to Hong Kong to found Enzyme APD, a BIM Architecture Office that develop Architecture international projects of any scale. He is also Registered BIM consultant by Graphisoft. Throughout his experience in those international projects he developed his skills as BIM expert creating his own methodologies to develop projects using BIM from the early stage through their whole life cycle.AbstractGIS provides a huge amount of data for AEC Industries in ways that were impossible or impractical until now. This allows design professionals to access data related to the built environment, cities and infrastructure, which, in turn allows us to design the built environment in a manner that is much richer and wholistic, integrating geospatial data and its implications on sustainability credentials.
At Enzyme APD using Computational tools we do implement all this data into our BIM environment to enhance the quality and accuracy of our models. This particular workflow combines the data from GIS with the advantages of BIM such as control, accuracy, efficiency.
We can use the data from GIS to enhance our projects in order to have a more accurate and real architecture and urban design. This real input allow us to take better decisions, improves the way our projects interact with the environment and assists us in our quest for a more sustainable Architecture and Cities.
In our short presentation we will showcase a general approach to the workflow that connects GIS with BIM and will show a more particular case study of how we apply this workflow into an Architecture Projects.
