BiographyI, Md. Abul Kalam, Director Development, Survey of Bangladesh is submitting my profile for your perusal:

I, Md. Abul Kalam joined at Survey of Bangladesh as Assistant Director (Survey) on 16 June 1996. Promoted to Deputy Director (Survey) on 15 November 2003. Promoted to the post of Director on 14 November 2013. I am continuously working at Survey of Bangladesh, the National Mapping Organization for the last 22 years.

Besides my departmental and home trainings, I have attended the following training courses/ seminar abroad during my tenure:

a) Global Mapping (Environment), Tokyo, Japan 2 June 1997 - 8 August 1997.
b) Planning and Management of National Mapping and Surveying Course, Japan. Duration: 2 October 2001 to 26 July 2002
c) Seminar on Globeland30 and its applications at National Surveying and Mapping Agency, Beijing, China. 29 June 2015 - 2 July 2015
d) Microsoft certified solutions associate Windows Server, 2012 IPSR solutions Limited, Kerala, India. 21 March 2016 - 1 April 2016
e) Cooperation on China Satellite Data Sharing for Geospatial Information Technology Application Beijing, China. 4 January 2017 - 7 January 2017
f) Kunming Forum on UN-GGIM, Cities of the Future: Smart, Resilient and Sustainable - Kunming, Unan Province, China. 10 May 2017 - 12 May 2017.

Presently, Survey of Bangladesh is preparing 1:25,000 scale Digital Base Maps for all over the country. We uses Digital Aerial Photographs for the preparation of maps. We have Digital Photogrammetry, Cartography and GIS units. We are using the state of the art hardware and software. Our geodetic unit has introduced 6 permanent GNSS stations in the country. More GNSS stations will be established to densify to get better positional accuracy. We are taking technical support to strengthen our technical know- how from the friendly countries.

The Forum will make open the door of cooperation in case of Geospatial data sharing methodology and uses. I hope, the Hyderabad Geospatial World Forum will be immensely beneficial for me and my organization. I wish a great success of the Forum.
