Biography20+ years’ of experience in planning, designing, implementing and training with state of art technologies in GIS, Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry at various organisations in Department of Space, Cabinet Secretariats, Defence, DRDO, Paramilitary, Central and State Government, Environmental, Agriculture, Planning and Private Industries in INDIA and other Allied Countries. In his present appointment he is responsible in conceptualising Start-of-Art solutions for Defence, Paramilitary Forces and Government, using his in-depth knowledge in Systems, Networking, Software development, Web and Service Oriented Architecture.Abstract Unlike conventional GIS that undertakes analysis and publishes results through reports, geospatial solutions for defence requires a live view of the entire scenario. Operational decisions depend on access to up-to-date, accurate and reliable data. Hence, spatial technology has to integrate fully with the processes and systems defence forces. That is particularly challenging as the volumes of data, and rates of change, are particularly high. The result is that organisations need superior solutions for storing, managing, and delivering their growing volumes of spatial content. The Map solution needs to make it simple for soldiers to find and rapidly display content in their chosen enterprise platform. At Hexagon we understood the need of a map by a soldier to reflect "what is," and "what can be." We need maps to provide answers. These maps are focused, targeted, lightweight map applications that solve real situational problems. They deliver a fresh and powerful way to gain insight into the shifts and transformations of the situation. The map of the future is. not just a map - it's a smart app!
