BiographySeema Mehra Parihar, Ph.D is an Associate Professor at Department of Geography, Kirori Mal College for the last 30 years . Her research interests include Natural Resource Management, Gender, theoretical geography, geospatial tools and technologies. Her Ph.D. is from Department of Geography, Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi. Her Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Department of Geoinformatics, Cartography and Geovisualization, ITC, Enschede, The Netherlands involved designing and developing a web based course in Web Geoinformatics. Lately, she has written and recorded 20 E-Lessons of GIS & Resource Geography for Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India: UGC- Post Graduate (EPG) Pathshala programme in 2017. She has also recently completed a two series project, ‘Gender Atlas of India’, as a principal Investigator for NMEW, WCD, Government of India. During the last three decades she has coordinated many geospatial and gender based programmes, research projects ,courses and conducted innumerable workshops for college faculty, school teachers, and researchers..Lately she has been a Coordinator of the Gender Working Group at Bandung 60+ Conference at Indonesia (2015) , Coordinator of Refresher Course on ‘Gender & Space’ ,in Women’s Studies(2016) and Nodal Faculty of UGC driven Gender Champion Programme (2017) at KMC.. She was awarded Bhoo-Samman by the Bhoovikas Foundation, India . She has also published many related articles and presented a number of papers in international conferences and has been undertaking research projects. She is currently working on hydropolitics (ICSSR project) and inter-sectoral convergence projects including preparation of Gender based Story Maps and insights on Arc GIS platform. She was also a Chairperson of Central Placement Cell, University of Delhi; Deputy Dean Students' Welfare, University of Delhi, Joint Director of Developing Country Research Center (DCRC) and a Trainer of the Trainers of the UGC Capacity Building Programme for Women Managers in Higher Education. She is also a member of ESRI’s initiative of Geospatial Academia Council of India.
