BiographyDr. Kamal Jain joined as lecturer in Department of Civil Engineering at University of Roorkee in Jan 1985. Presently Dr. Kamal Jain is a professor in Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Roorkee. His expertise has been recognized both at international, national and regional level. He holds life membership of Indian National Cartography Association (INCA), Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), Indian National Trust for Art & Cultural Heritage (INTACH), Indian Society of Geomatics and Asian Society of Remote Sensing. Replacing the costly laser technology for virtual mapping of any location or structure, Dr. Jain, has come up with a technological solution to 3D virtual mapping by using photogrammetry for the first time in the country. This is many times cheaper than the less-available laser technology. Not only this many products like Video Geo-Tagging, Moto Tracker, Web based Asset management System Tracker 24, 3D Printer, and 3D Terrestrial Laser Scanner etc.
