BiographyA professionally qualified in the field of public transport putting 34 years of service,having knowledge of operation of public transport in India and abroad. Participated in numerous international conference relating to operation, sustainability, customer friendly service , employee issues and infrastructure development.
Ph,D in public transport history of Karnataka state documenting the growth of public transport in the perspectives of operation, administration &finance, passenger needs and facility to weaker sections of the society. Degree in Law relating to various dimensions of law and legislations. Post graduate degree in Social Work. Post Graduate Diploma in Transport Management ,Bachelor Degree in Economics, Statistics and political science.
Head IT Department:
• Design and Develop new software for the operational activities of BMTC/NWKRTC.
• Maintain the existing application software and hard wares at 60 locations in NWKRTC.
• Provide network connectivity and security to the software and hardware.
• Committee member to scrutiny and evaluate the Intelligent Transport System in BMTC consisting of automatic vehicle location, real-time revenue collection and passenger information system.
• Committee member to design and develop new web site for BMTC (mybmtc.com).
• Preparation of RFP and tender documents for SLAM ,IMTS,IMS, MIS,HRMS, Training , and many more

Worked as guest faculty in Central Institute of Road Transport Pune, IIT Madras. Authored books, written articles which are published in reputed journals, state gazetteers and books. Presented papers at national and international conferences and workshops relating to public transport.
Undertaken study tours on public transport to UK, Turkey, Dubai, China, and Singapore &Malaysia Abstract Application of Geospatial Technology for sustainable public transport –North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation Hubli InitiativesTransport is the important infrastructure required for the overall development of human society. The technological adoption has become need of the hour for its performance and sustainability. North western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation spared no time in this regard.
NWKRTC operate in 06 districts ,44 talukas,4609 villages with 49 depots,164 bus stations 4861 buses, everyday produce 15.85 effective kms, earn INR 441 .71 lakh revnue,4670 schedules among them 1770 village routes, 569 city and sub urban,610 interstate routes.23 lakh passenger travel everyday and 23000 employees are at service.
Geospatial technology anointed with information technology is widely used in the day today functioning of the corporation like vehicle tracking system, revenue collection system, passenger information system, route scheduling and rationalisation, safety of passengers, vehicle health monitoring system and civil infrastructure development.
The adoption of this technology has helped in mobilisation and maximisation of resources, prevention of wastages, accurate passenger information real-time revenue collection system, preventive and curative maintenance of vehicles and many more.
The paper covers the samples of geospatial technology in the field of passenger public transport in the northern Karnataka area.
