BiographyAswani Kumar Akella is a GIS professional with over two decades of cross functional management experience in diverse industries and market segments. As a GIS Consultant and founder of Latgeo Consulting, his current focus is on consulting / advisory for geo-enablement of enterprises, helping organizations navigate the challenges of implementing geospatial technologies and dealing with multiple technologies, platforms, vendors and integration. With passion for knowledge sharing and dissemination, he is also involved with geospatial technology evangelism through LatKonnect a geospatial resource platform. Earlier in his professional career, he had held executive / functional leadership positions in strategy, business development, sales, product development, operations, quality management & IT infrastructure management with GIS technology OEM and solution providers. His sectorial experience includes E-Governance, Natural resource management, Urban / Rural development, Homeland Security, Public Safety, Emergency Response, Disaster Management, Defense, Land Record Modernization, Utilities, Smart Cities / Smart Infrastructure with a special focus on integration of Geospatial (GIS) technologies with real-time devices and enterprise systems. Aswani was honored with CIO 100 Award in 2008 - The Bold 100 2008 as recognition for exemplifying highest level of operational and strategic excellence in Information Technology.
