Abstract Water Resource Management for the Industry and RegulatorWith continued rise in demand for clean water and environmentally aware treatment of dirty waters, efficient and effective Water Resource Management is becoming an important tool to develop robust strategies to match supply against these every growing demands. There are many factors impacting these strategies including global warming, continued urbanisation of the population and of course, for industries and agricultural activities.
While much has been done to map global water stress through geospatial solutions, the need now is to turn these tools to accurate and detailed mapping; to include all our water resources, changing weather patterns and the ever growing consumption of water, to enable both Governments and Water Companies to better plan their water management strategies. Governments are taking a more prominent role in water management through an increase in various regulatory activities such as water quality management and environmental conditions.
This presentation will cover the changing role of geospatial data and solutions to provide organisations with the level of accuracy and granularity necessary to develop more effective water management strategies. And how this will support efficient targeting of infrastructure investments, and provide an accurate framework and effective regulatory reporting.
