BiographyMichele Campagna (MiC.) is Associate Professor of Spatial Planning
His actual research interests deal with Spatial Planning and Geodesign, the Scientific Method in Planning, Metaplanning, Strategic Environmental Assessment, and the use of Spatial Information Technology in Planning, and Planning Support Systems (PSS).
His recent research results concerns the socio-economic impacts of Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDI), the use of Social Media Geographic Information (SMGI) in spatial planning, metaplanning, 1st and 2nd generation PSS, and Geodesign.
He is scientific coordinator of the UrbanGIS lab at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Architecture at the University of Cagliari, where he teaches Spatial Planning, Geodesign and GIScience.Abstract Volunteered Geography in spatial planning and designThe talk presents recent research results of the author in the use of Volunteered and Social Media Geographic Information (VGI/SMGI) in spatial planning and design. The use of active and passive crowdsourced geo-information resources is proposed with regards to all the phases of spatial planning processes: from representation to analysis, from design to decision-making. The lesson learn is extended to the domains of climate change adaptation and disaster management.
