BiographyDr. Anju Gaur is currently working as Senior Water Resources Specialist at the World Bank and task team leader of National Hydrology and West Bengal Minor irrigation projects.
She offers extensive experience in technical and institutional aspects in the water sector and has carried out a number of research and development projects including World Bank funded Hydrology project, Water Resources Restructuring projects in Irrigated agriculture. Her special interests include development of river basin management tools, introduction of modern Irrigation management practices in the field, use of advance planning and monitoring practices in implementation of project and participatory irrigation management. The river basin management tools include development of Hydro-met systems, hydrologic and solute transport modeling, flood forecasting and management, groundwater hydrogeology, international rivers, and remote sensing based planning and monitoring. Prior to joining the World Bank, she worked as researcher/ irrigation engineer at the International Water Management Institute, Iowa State University USA, Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations, Hebrew University of Jerusalem Israel, and Rajasthan Agricultural Drainage Research Project with UMA Engineering consultancy Canada. She received a PhD from Iowa State University, USA with Major in Water Resources. She completed her B.E. (Ag) from CTAE in 1989.
