Purpose of the workshop including specific learning objectives
This workshop introduces M.App Portfolio, a powerful new ecosystem to create and run Hexagon Smart M.Apps. Participants will learn the basics of M.App Studio, an Interactive web framework for designing and building Hexagon Smart M.Apps. They will also learn how to use M.App Chest, a Cloud-based application to store and manage big geospatial data and easily distribute with web services. Finally, participants will learn the procedures to place an App into M.App Exchange, the Cloud-based marketplace where individuals and organizations can experience, purchase and use Hexagon Smart M.Apps.

A Hexagon Smart M.App is a targeted, lightweight map application that solves specific business problems.
Hexagon Geospatial's M.App Portfolio provides a modern, cloud-based platform for creating and delivering Hexagon Smart M.Apps. The M.App Portfolio empowers our partners to design, build, and deploy their own Hexagon Smart M.Apps using our trusted core technologies. The M.App Portfolio includes: M.App Foundation, the core geospatial web services; M.App Studio, an interactive, web framework for designing and building Hexagon Smart M.Apps; and M.App Exchange, the online store for sharing your Smart M.Apps with the world.
This workshop will introduces the M.App Portfolio core components and features. Thought a series of hands-on step-by-step exercises, participants will get familiar with M.App Studio development environment for designing and building Hexagon Smart M.Apps, learning how to add contents from M.App Chest and create a map, configure business intelligence layer and widgets, and customize multi-viewer applications through scripting. Participants will also learn the procedures to place a Smart M.App into the Cloud-based marketplace (M.App Exchange), including creating a new product, entering Profile and Branding information, defining editions and pricing, testing configuration and finally publishing the App.
