Biography
The Met Office works at the forefront of weather and climate science to provide protection, prosperity and enhance wellbeing, protecting lives and property. Digital capability and Technology play a key role in delivering the Met Office mission. As part of the senior Technology management team, Richard ensures the digital vision and technology strategy for the Met Office, identifies the opportunities for differentiating capabilities and solutions, working with business areas to develop new business models by providing input and guidance on internal and external technical opportunities. Prior to this Richard was Head of IT Applications responsible for the Applications Development department at the Met Office. Delivering high quality web applications to commercial public and government customers, providing easy to use, value added products and applications that allow users to understand and respond to weather events critical to their business.
