Abstract User case: mobile mapping port infrastructure in a marinaThe goal of the project was to investigate whether it was possible to capture high quality asset management information from the Blankenberge marina at the Belgain Coast, using a Trimble MX7 mobile mapping system. The unit was mounted on a frame on top of a lifeboat from the local lifeguards. The vessel was maneuvered along the different pontoons and quays to capture georeferenced 360-degrees panoramas of the port infrastructure. Based on the results of the Blankenberge dataset, it can be concluded that the MX7 system is suitable for inventory and documenting port infrastructures from the waterside.
